Split's Riva began to take its current shape two centuries ago, when the French ruled these parts during the time of Napoleon, by the hand of Marshal Marmont.
To this day, that promenade has become the city's living room, the most popular and important public space in Split.

Krka is a national park in Croatia that stretches along the Krka River, from the place where the medieval fortresses of Trošenj and Nečven lie above the Krka to the Šibenik bridge on the Adriatic highway. It received the status of a national park on January 24, 1985.
